Civil Rights Services for Arizona’s Arab Community
Since 2008, the Arab American Organization (AAO) has proudly served the Arab American community in Arizona with a mission to preserve, celebrate, and advocate for Arab American culture and identity. A crucial part of that work is ensuring access to civil rights and supporting individuals facing injustice, regardless of the circumstance.

What We Do
At AAO, civil rights support is more than a program; it’s a promise. Our services ensure that members of the Arab community can access fair treatment, resources, and support when they face discrimination. These services include:
-
Complaint Assistance & Support
If you’re facing discrimination, whether in employment, housing, education, public accommodations, or elsewhere, AAO can guide you through the process. We help you understand your rights, file a formal complaint when relevant, and connect with additional resources as needed. -
Navigation & Referral Services
We work collaboratively with legal experts and partner organizations to help clients find the specialized assistance they might need. That could include legal counsel, advocacy groups, or state-level support services. -
Community Education & Awareness
Knowing your rights is the first step toward empowerment. AAO hosts workshops, distributes clear resources, and organizes outreach activities so our community stays aware, informed, and confident in asserting their civil rights. -
Proactive Advocacy
When we notice patterns of systemic issues or gaps in protection, AAO engages with public agencies, legal networks, and the broader community to address these challenges. Our goal is to promote lasting improvements in policies and practices.
Why It Matters
Arizona’s Arab American residents often face complex challenges, language barriers, unfamiliar legal systems, or experiences of bias that discourage them from seeking help. That’s why AAO’s civil rights services are vital. We strive to maintain safe, equitable, and meaningful access to justice for everyone in our community.
